During 2016, NOAA’s Teacher at Sea Program performed an operational review and modified our season to focus on our alumni. Following an alumni-only application process, we placed 9 alumni on NOAA cruises for a second research experience. Meanwhile, we maintained our ongoing partnerships with NOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuaries and the National Science Foundation’s PolarTrec Program to support sailing three new teachers on NOAA cruises.
