NOAA’s Teacher at Sea 2022 Field Season

Below is a list of the NOAA Teachers at Sea for the 2022 Field Season. Once they embark on their cruise, you can gain access to their logs which document their missions at sea and offer a wealth of information about the research being conducted as well as personal stories. 

Jordan Findley is an environmental educator at Tampa Bay Watch, Inc., in Tierra Verde, FL. Jordan sailed on a reef fish survey aboard NOAA Ship Pisces.

Michael Gutiérrez Santiago teaches math and science at Abelardo Martínez Otero High School in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Michael sailed on a hake survey aboard NOAA Ship Bell M. Shimada.

Laura Grimm teaches STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) to students throughout Dalton Local School District in Dalton, OH. Laura sailed on a hydrographic survey aboard NOAA Ship Thomas Jefferson.

George Hademenos teaches physics and earth science at Richardson High School in Richardson, TX. George sailed on a groundfish survey aboard R/V Tommy Munro.

Maronda Hastie teaches math at McNair High School in Atlanta, GA. Maronda sailed on a shark survey aboard NOAA Ship Oregon II.

Oktay Ince teaches biology at Horizon Science Academy in Columbus, OH. Oktay sailed on a hydrographic survey aboard NOAA Ship Thomas Jefferson.
